at the risk of redundancy
I realize I have been using many links, but I have to do one more. I want to thank my former students Chris Crowe and Dan Miller for introducing me to Sam Beam. He is a musician who uses the stage name Iron & Wine. I look forward to heavily investing in his career. He recently played Messiah and this is a link to Iron & Wine performing "The Trapeze Swinger" at that show. Enjoy.

Earl, I don't think your are redundant. Earl, I don't think your are redundant.
The first time I encountered Iron & Wine was lying on a hollow bed in a hut in the dust of Senegal. A fellow American had loaned me her iPod to help me feel better since I'd finally gotten the sickness and my stomach was doing somersaults. I thought the name Iron & Wine was interesting, so I listened to a track, and I found it so soothing and inviting that I listened to it until I felt better (not, however, without emptying the contents of my stomach first...is that TMI?). I hadn't heard them since, until I followed your link.

they're great. if you come to the festival, i'll give you the bootleg of the show they did at Calvin two years ago. after they played "woman king" and about brought the house down, a guy in the audience shouted out "Sam Beam is God!!" Sam replied, "Dude, do you know where you're at?"
He's great.
